Keira Knightley

She was raised in London to actor Will Knightley and Sharman Macdonald, Knightley obtained an agent at age six and initially was involved in television commercials as well as films. In 1999, she played Sabe as Sabe in Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Her breakthrough came when she played a tomboy footballer in the film Bend It Like Beckham (2002), and went on to achieve global stardom for playing Elizabeth Swann in the swashbuckler fantasy show Pirates of the Caribbean, starting in 2003. In 2003, she appeared in the romance comedy Love Actually and was called an exciting teenager. Knightley won an Academy Award nod for Best Actress in 2005 for portraying Elizabeth Bennet, the heroine of the historical romance Pride & Prejudice. Knightley acted in numerous other period films like Atonement (2007 which was a romantic love tale), The Duchess, (2008) and Anna Karenina, (2012). She also played a socialite named Georgiana in The Duchess. The actress also appeared in contemporary dramas, appearing as an aspiring singer In Begin Again (2013) and a physician for Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit (2014). Knightley was back in historical dramas, playing Joan Clarke, in The Imitation Game and resulted in an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
